Sometimes, a glamorous career conceals some of the saddest stories. Lolo Jones, athlete of the USA and World hurdles, has earned this status after many years of dedication and perseverance. Jones is a child born into a single mother that included five kids living who were stricken by poverty and hardship when she was a kid, endured an extremely difficult early life. Her mother had been constantly changing her location and she lived in the basement. Jones needed to go to a new high school each year due to her nomadic upbringing. Jones moved away from her mom to Theodore Roosevelt in order for her to concentrate on her interest in track. She stayed in four residences during her time at high school, so she could attend all of her classes in one location. Jones, a cellist in the school's orchestra, and recipient of the Gatorade the track and field athlete of the year was awarded an award called the Gatorade Iowa Athlete award at the close of her high school career. Jones at the time she was going to college, was regarded as a top hurdler. In 2002, she was the winner of the 100-meter hurdles during the NCAA Track & Field Championship. She also participated in the team finishing second for 100-meters relay. Jones has been the NCAA champion in indoor hurdles in both 2013 and 2003. Jones, after completing her studies in 2005, began to train hard for track. The same year she also won her first Torino Memorial Event, while in 2026, she was the winner of the Ostrava Track race and Heusden.
Growing up within Cape Town South Africa Brandt immigrated with her family to Auckland New Zealand in her late teens. Brandt was found by local casting agents, took the lead character of Naevia on the Starz blockbusters Spartacus Blood and Sand and Spartacus Gods of the Arena. Her performance was a hit for both the audience and the producer Steven S. D Knight, Sam Raimi and Sam Raimi. She was on the show's hit Netflix show Lucifer which had a 6 year run. She played the beloved comic book character from DC/Vertigo Mazikeen. Forbes named Lucifer the most binged-out show in 2021. Brandt is set to appear alongside Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira in the 6 episode limited Walking Dead spin-off which airs in 2024. She will also be starring alongside Jason Ritter Anthony Carrigan and Chris Meloni in the adult animated series Captain Fall which airs July 2023 on Netflix. Lesley Ann Brandt born in Cape Town South Africa on December 2, 1981. She is an accomplished New Zealand actress. Lesley Brandt, along with her entire family moved to Auckland New Zealand back in 1999. In Auckland she started her career as a retail person then was promoted to IT management consultant. Lesley began her modeling career and then began to appear in commercials. She graduated in 2008 and completed her training in acting. In 2009, she began her acting studies she continued her studies with the Meisner method of study. Lesley's first big role on screen in New Zealand was as a TV actor in Diplomatic Immunity. Lesley Brandt appeared in the New Zealand drama Shortland Street, as a visitor supporting part. The next time she appeared on the show was This Is Not My Life. The show is based on the true account of Waimoana. Lesley Brandt played Naevia in the TV series Spartacus: Blood and Sand. She later portrayed the role in Spartacus: Gods of the Arena.
