Jennifer Tilly's birth took place at Los Angeles, California on September 16, 1958. The birth circumstances were miserable. Her father was a car salesman, while her mother was a teacher. Jennifer, second in a four-child family, was often at her mother's performance in the theater and very much impressed. Jennifer's parents split when she was 5 years young. Jennifer was a part of her life in British Columbia when her mother was able to move there with four children. Jennifer was not a scholar, though as a youngster she was extremely artistic. When she was in Canada she was the subject of bullying often. In the years that her interest in theatre diminished, she started acting in theatre plays to help her mom. She encouraged all her children to be passionate about the arts. Immediately after that she started acting.
